With more than 1,400 employees eager to make a real difference, Ancestry® is committed to empowering our global workforce with the resources and opportunities to give back to the communities where we live and work.

Each year, Ancestry hosts an annual Global Week of Service for employees to participate in hands-on volunteer activities aligned to our corporate responsibility focus areas: preserving at-risk history, empowering the next generation of history makers, and creating a more sustainable and inclusive future for generations to come.

Below is a recap of some of the impact we made together during Global Week of Service this year:

  • 2,400+ records indexed through to support the Holocaust Memorial Museum's World Memory Project
  • 75+ water filters were built by Ancestry employees, providing more than 792 people in need with access to clean water for up to 10 years
  • 120+ children will receive backpacks that were decorated and packed by Ancestry employees through the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and Pens for Kids
  • 140+ blind or visually impaired people received help from Ancestry employees through the Be My Eyes App
  • 100+ employees participated in a plastic waste and clean air educational webinars to learn how to become waste and emissions warriors
  • 40+ Ancestry employees volunteered with the Department of Veterans Affairs’ Utah Veterans Cemetery & Memorial Park Service

Friday of Global Week of Service was “Make Your Mark Day” - an open day for Ancestry employees to take advantage of the company’s 16 hours of paid Volunteer Time Off benefit to support the causes they are most passionate about.

We are proud of the impact we made during Global Week of Service, and are committed to continuing to give back year round through our community partnerships and investments, and employee volunteer programs. Learn more about our Corporate Responsibility commitments and initiatives here.
