This database contains death registers for U.S. Army Regulars. (Regulars were professional soldiers who served in the standing army, as opposed to volunteers, who were typically recruited for a specific conflict.) These registers were compiled by the Adjutant General’s Office. They vary some by date, but they may list the following details:

  • name
  • rank
  • unit
  • age
  • birthplace
  • length of service
  • date, place, and cause of death
  • race or nationality

The database also contains a few index volumes that list name, rank, unit, and date and place of death.
