This data collection contains microfilmed index cards identifying passengers who arrived at Honolulu, Hawaii, by ship or air between 1900 and 1952. Besides American citizens, thousands of travelers from Japan, China, Australia, and other nations in Asia and the Pacific passed through the port at Honolulu. Unfortunately, some records are difficult to read because of the filming process, and this cannot be corrected as the originals were destroyed.

Each card lists the passenger’s

  • Name
  • Citizenship/Nationality
  • Age
  • Gender
  • Port of Arrival (Honolulu)
  • Date of Arrival
  • Ship of Arrival
  • Volume, page, and line number in the book where the passenger’s arrival is recorded
