Frank Sari Jr.
Frank Sari Jr., 89, of Elizabeth Township,
passed away Thursday, Feb. 11, 2010, in Mt. Vernon of Elizabeth, in Elizabeth Township. Born Dec. 21, 1920, he was a son of the late Frank and Anna Sari Sr. A retired superintendent of Fort Pitt Steel Casting Company, in Christy Park, he was a member of the former St. Denis Church, in Versailles, and attended St. Patrick's Church, in Christy Park. An avid fisherman and hunter, Frank was a decorated veteran of the Army, serving during World War II in Central Europe as a Sergeant in the 284th Combat Engineers Battalion.
He joins his wives, Elizabeth "Libby" Sari
and Violet "Vi" Sari, who predeceased him.
Frank is survived by his sons, Richard Sari, of Canfield, Ohio, Thomas (Bonnie) Sari, of Elizabeth Township, and Robert (Melissa) Sari, of Orange City, Fla.; his granddaughters, Kimberly Sarene and Dana Meyers; his grandson, Jason (Barb Taylor) Sari; his granddaughters, Lauren Sari and Brooke Sari; his great-grandchildren, Jacob, Alex and Madilynn; sisters, Rose, Ann, Bertha and Elsie; brother, Charles; and also nieces and nephews. Besides his wives, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Irene, Helen and Mary. Friends will be received from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the DANIEL F. BEKAVAC FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATORY, 4504 Walnut St., Versailles, PA 15132. A blessing will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the funeral home with the Rev. R. Donald Jones officiating.
